Lead Engineer Research & Development

Key Accountabilities of the role

As part of a small, talented engineering team you coordinate and oversee the development of software, hardware and firmware for IC4C (intelligent control for cranes). This innovative project focuses on securely managing loads and positions in complex crane networks. You will also be involved in hands-on product management work to ensure success.

On a daily basis, you will have plenty of opportunities to collaborate and communicate with sub-contractors and colleagues across different departments. With this role comes exciting responsibilities such as:

  • Crafting high-level architecture for products,
  • Structuring the entire Research & Development process from start to finish,
  • Coding in various languages like C , JavaScript HTML/CSS or Python;
  • Coordination of the testing of newly developed products for functionality before introducing into production line by creating thorough test procedures.
  • Finally making sure innovative ideas are implemented on projects that have potential commercial success in line with the strategic market analysis and in collaboration with the business partner in Canada hence integrating their own unique mastery within the Canadian branch.

We are looking for:

  • A seasoned professional with expertise in embedded software and IoT development?
  • 10+ years of experience working within industrial standards such as CANOpen, Modbus and Ethernet/IP protocol?
  • An experienced dynamic individual that thrives on ambition to join our mid-sized company.
  • Fluency in English is essential; both written and spoken.
